Residential Service
Nowadays, garage doors are used more than ever. 55% of homeowners now use their garage as their main access point in and out of their home. On average, people open and close their doors 3 times a day, which equates to around 1500 times a year.
Obviously, that’s going to contribute to wear and tear over the years. Over time, equipment will need repairs, general maintenance, and upgrades. Having a professional garage door expert perform thorough preventative maintenance 1-2 times a year is an excellent way to keep future expenses down and minimize the risk of equipment failure.
What is Preventative Maintenance?
Preventative maintenance is a regularly performed inspection of equipment. It includes lubricating all essential points, making adjustments where needed, minor repairs, cleaning off areas that require no obstructions, and making suggestions where necessary. The ultimate goal of preventive maintenance is to prevent equipment failure before it occurs and to reduce the risk of accidents.
When to Call in a Service Repair?
A service call is generally requested when something is beyond a quick fix. Here are some examples of common service calls:
- Broken spring(s)
- Broken cable
- Damaged tracks
- Damaged garage panels
- Unfamiliar noises or high-pitched squeaking
- Door going up or down on an angle
- Hardware upgrades
- Operators not operating as they should or not at all
In most cases, we are able to resolve the issue on the first trip as we carry a large inventory of parts needed on our service trucks. However, in certain situations, the parts required may be specific to your door, and in that case, we may be able to temporarily fix the issue until we get the necessary parts to complete the job.
